Lucas grew up in a small town just 30 minutes North of Nashville, TN. Having played with bands and at church for most of his childhood, he knew early on that music was going to be a lifelong journey. In 2012, he moved to Nashville and started his studies at Belmont University in pursuit of a BBA in Music Production. During college, Lucas began producing demos for friends and fellow classmates and picking up weekend performing opportunities wherever he could find them.
Lucas began touring part-time in 2014. He started off playing bass, keys and singing backgrounds for Nashville singer-songwriter Jill Andrews. Later he would also play bass, keys, guitar, and sing with artists such as Jordy Searcy, Crystal Bowersox, Hush Kids, Sandra McCracken, Joy Oladokun, Mat Kearney, Matthew Perryman Jones, and Taylor Leonhardt among others in venues across the country including the Ryman Auditorium and Red Rocks.
In 2017, Lucas decided to shift his focus primarily toward studio production and writing. He teamed up with friend, collaborator, and session drummer Will Sayles in a joint studio that saw the recording of several defining projects. During the next two and a half years, Lucas produced many records including Jordy Searcy’s “Dark in the City” and “Love? Songs” as well as Jill Andrews’ “Thirties”.
In 2020, Lucas moved to the beloved Art House Studios, started by Charlie Peacock in the early 90s. He worked out of the B Room for a year and a half and produced records such as Taylor Leonhardt’s “Hold Still”, Jon McLaughlin’s “All the Things I Say to Myself”, and Jordy Searcy’s “Daylight”. That same year, Lucas signed on with Olivia Management based out of Nashville, TN.

In 2021, Lucas and his wife, producer/artist Latifah Alattas (Moda Spira) started building a brand new joint studio space from the ground up. With the wonderful leadership of Niles Acoustic and Design, the new studio was finished in early 2022. Complete with two separate production suites, individually designed with pristine acoustic referencing and isolation and a collection of new and vintage gear accumulated throughout the years, Lucas’s studio, dubbed House of Gary, is fully equipped to produce according to a variety of needs.
